bus_originalOne thing I always hated was figuring out a safe place to park and get home after late night in Old Town Fort Collins. However, a new 'Green & Gold' service offered by Transfort and parking services may save some people a lot of hassle after late nights in Old Town.

I should thank my friend Kelly S. for bringing this little tidbit of info to my attention.

Transfort now has late-night bus service in Fort Collins that runs from 10:30PM-2:30AM and late-night riders can get an overnight parking voucher from the bus drivers that allow them to park overnight in the parking garages for just $5!

Here's the scoop on the bus service from the City of Fort Collins:

Green & Gold: Late-Night Weekend Downtown Bus Service

Transfort provides two late-night bus routes from the Downtown area on Friday and Saturday nights throughout the year. The service runs from 10:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. with departures every 15 minutes from the corner of Mountain Avenue and Remington Street. Single ride fares are $1.00; $0.50 for seniors (60+), disabled & Medicare. (No passes are eligible for use with this service, including CSU RamCards.)

And here is the scoop on the overnight parking vouchers:

Another reason to ride the late bus! Parking Services and Transfort offer Green & Gold passengers who park in the downtown parking structures overnight a fixed fee of $5. Get your voucher from the Green & Gold bus operator. Bus Operators will only provide these if requested. Vouchers are valid in the Old Town and Civic Center Parking Garages.

I have a feeling this is going to save a lot of people a lot of hassle, and keep a lot of inebriated people off of our roads!
