I love my computer.  I love everything about it...except for the fact that it came with the buggy, frustrating Windows Vista operating system.  I should have heeded the warnings of others and held out for Windows 7, but noooo.  I had to have the latest (and I thought greatest) of everything when I bought my computer.  Luckily, relief from Vista is on the horizon; and it closer than you might think.

According to The Verge, Microsoft has announced that its latest operating system, Windows 8, should be hitting retail stores by late October of this year.  They're planning on releasing it to manufacturers in August first, but by October it should be available to anyone.

The other exciting thing is that it won't cost an arm and a leg to upgrade to Win8 if you already have Windows on your computer.

Microsoft Users running editions of either Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7 will be able to purchase the new upgrade for just $39.99 in 131 markets, to take them to Microsoft’s latest operating system.

Everything I've seen about Windows 8 makes it look very different from previous versions; but hopefully, this time, change will be a good thing!
