With the NCAR wildfire in Boulder County reaching near 70% containment on Monday afternoon, Estes Valley Fire began fighting a wildfire east of Estes Park.

What started as a one-alarm 5-acre wildfire near Soul Shine Road, east of Estes Park and south of Highway 34, escalated to a four-alarm wildfire of over 23 acres.

Estes Valley Fire encouraged those in the area to text the word LCEVAC to 88877 to stay up to date on the fire. A single-engine air tanker was used to help put out the fire.
