5 Reasons You Should Check Out A Colorado Avalanche Game
There are a lot of things to do in Denver and since we moved here, we've experienced a bunch of them as a family but one of the best experiences for all of us was the one we took in this past weekend at Ball Arena.
Me, my wife (who's been a diehard Avalanche fan all of her life) and our 7 year old son took in our first Colorado Avalanche game as a family and it was simply awesome.
There was fun and excitement at every turn and the seemingly unending energy throughout the arena was felt from the time we walked in to the time we left, after a big 6-3 win over the Philadelphia Flyers.
Sure, you could say I'm a little biased because I am a self proclaimed sports nut and emcee for the Avalanche's American Hockey League affiliate Colorado Eagles. While that might be a little bit true, hear me out from a totally unbiased point of view for a minute.
I've come up with 5 solid reasons you should take in an Avalanche game sooner than later, and here they are.
1. It's fun and exciting
It's hard to put into words how fun Avs games are and even just watching the highlights it can be difficult to capture all of the excitement but out of all of the live sports we can check out in Denver, the Avalanche games are the most exciting in my humble opinion.

2. The team is really good
The Avs have the best record in the NHL and the team is loaded with talent and exciting players that do some incredible things on the ice.
The team currently stands with the best record in the NHL by a few points with a record of 46-14-6 good for 98 points total. The Avalanche have not hoisted the Stanley Cup Trophy since the summer of 2001.
3.Fun for kids of all ages
Whether it's a date night or a family night out, there is fun stuff to do in addition to watching the game all throughout the arena. During the intermission, we hit the concourse and try his hand at some slapshots on the virtual screen.
If it's a grown up kinda night or a date night, I highly recommend the Breckenridge Brewery Mountain House.
4. The tickets can be affordable if you plan accordingly
If you're looking for the best deal on on Avs tickets, go on a weeknight where, in my experience tickets have been 50-60% cheaper. If you can only make the weekend games then I strongly encourage downloading the Stub Hub or Gametime app and wait to get your tickets the day of the game.
We did this and watched ticket prices drop over the last few days leading up to the game from around $80 for the cheapest ticket down to where I purchased our tickets for, $40 a piece. You can also set up notifications to get alerts when your desired tickets get below a certain price that's in your budget. Win win.
5. Make lifelong memories
Whether you're a huge sports family like us or just a casual fan looking for a great time, Avalanche games are sure to please and it's just a wonderful way to create some memories with your loved ones sure to last a lifetime. Just look at the smiles.
