It's close proximity to the mountains, many microbreweries and marijuana dispensaries are just a few of the reasons why so many people may be choosing to spend their holiday break in Denver, Colorado – with more domestic travelers expected to be coming to the Mile High City during Christmastime than to warm and sunny Miami, Florida. Denver came in at number eight on Allianz Global Assistance's Top 10 Holiday Destinations Report with 53,748 booked intents made online. The U.S. city attracting the most holiday travelers this year, is New York City, with an estimated 113,326 flights and packages booked during the week mentioned above. The overall top 10 Christmas destinations in the United States for 2016 are New York City, Los Angeles, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, San Francisco, Honolulu, Boston, Denver, Miami and Newark.
