Wheat Ridge Woman Makes 40K Christmas Cards For Troops
Marlys Halbeisen is a hero, plain and simple.
While most of us have been trying to stay sane over quarantine, for the past few months Halbeisen has been personalizing Christmas cards for troops overseas. She's been doing this for years, according to The Denver Channel: In 2018, she made 2,700, in 2019, she made 18,000: but 2020 takes the cake.
Officially this year, Halbeisen has completed 40,000 cards.
Halbeisen started the card project because her husband served in the military, but last year, the company she wanted to use to ship the cards disappeared. Denver7 and its viewers donated money to Halbeisen to pay for the shipping last year AND this year, too.
Halbeisen will continue to spread the love this Christmas, and you can help her: Learn more about her project and donate right here.
