What To Do With All This Snow? How About Snow Pudding!
As a kid I always loved snow. Not just because I could make a snow fort and an army of snow creatures, but I could always look forward to a heaping bowl of snow pudding!
All you need is clean fresh snow, milk, sugar, and flavoring extract. This snow pudding recipe is from AllRecipes and it sounds pretty close to what I remember my mom making as a kid.
- 6 cups clean fresh snow
- i cup milk
- 1/2 cup fine sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
In a large bowl, mix together the milk, sugar and vanilla until well blended. Carefully stir in the snow. Freeze, or scoop into bowls, and serve immediately.
You might have to adjust the amount of milk you use to get a consistency you like and adjust the sugar to create your ideal level of sweetness. But it's a quick, easy winter treat.
This recipe makes vanilla snow pudding, but you can really make almost any flavor you want. All you do is use another flavor extract instead of vanilla. One of my favorites was to use root beer extract. Mmm, mmm good.
You can see a list of some of the extracts offered by McCormick's here. You'll see the possibilities are pretty much endless once you find the rows of extracts at the grocery store.
It's simple, it's tasty, and you only have to dirty up a few dishes to make it.
Cheers to the first full day of winter!
