Dumb Criminal of the Day: Mom Puts Baby in Dryer as Punishment

You’d think “Don’t put your toddler in the dryer,” would be a pretty simple rule to follow as a parent. But an Iowa woman showed us that common sense does not come gift wrapped to you once you become a mom.

In Mason City Police are alleging that a 25-year-old woman put her son in a clothes dryer and turned it on as a form of punishment.

What happened? This 22-month-old toddler went exploring on and crawled into the dryer. When mom found the boy she was mad and punished the kid by shutting the dryer door and turning it on.

**FYI, this is NOT how to dry a baby.

Whatever happened to a good stern finger-shake and a shout of, “No! Don’t do that!”

The good news? She only turned the dryer on for a few seconds and the child wasn't hurt.

However, mom is now facing charges of child endangerment which could be worth over six thousand dollars in fines and up to two years in prison.
