Okay, I'm not going to get into an argument of "do ghosts exist of not?" There are a handful of places, even in Fort Collins, Colorado that people claim are haunted. And let's face it, even if you don't believe in ghosts, sometimes places can just feel downright creepy!

Shadowlands, a website dedicated to information about strange things around the world lists these Fort Collins locations as haunted:

Some other haunted location in Northern Colorado, according to Shadowlands:

  • Baldpate Inn and Stanley Hotel in Estes Park.
  • Three different residence halls at the University of Northern Colorado and the Ramkota Hotel in Greeley.
  • Bingham Hill Cemetery in LaPorte
  • The Mead Graveyard in Mead
  • An area south of Carter Lake in Berthoud.

Now,with permission, you can probably go check out a lot of these places for yourself, but keep in mind that you can and will be prosecuted for trespassing if you aren't allowed to be there.

There are plenty of more places rumored to be home to unsettled spirits in town and you can take a variety of different ghost tours of Fort Collins from Haunted Fort Collins. Check out this interview with a Fort Collins history buff and owner of Fort Collins Tours about just how haunted Fort Collins is.

Its [Fort Collins] one of the more haunted places I have ever located…We did not set out to be a Ghost Tour, we set out to be a historical walking tour, but everywhere I went to ask about the history of the buildings and the history of the people in the area, the business and building owners would say ‘And did you know our place is haunted?’ When we reached about 30 places we [realized] this was a hotbed of hauntings and we started the Ghost Tours. So, do you know of any place in town that might be haunted? Maybe Derek & I will have to go check it out.
