What Fort Collins Businesses Were Fined For Liquor Violations Last Year?
According to the Coloradoan, most bars, restaurants and liquor stores in Fort Collins didn’t break any liquor rules last year. But a handful of them didn’t fare so well with police and state inspectors. Those establishments paid over 17-grand in combined fines and were forced to close for 88-days (collectively).
Which places made a few mistakes with serving liquor in 2012?
Among the liquor- licensed establishments in town, these were among some of the offenders: (There are probably a few more that need to be added to the list as well.)
- The Armadillo (Now Closed for Good)
- Austin’s American Grill
- The Rio Grande
- Steak-Out Saloon
- Rustic Oven
- Campus West Liquors
- Avogadro's Number
- Cafe Mexicali
- Crazy Jack's Saloon
- Justine's Pizza
- King Soopers (S. College)
- Little Saigon Cafe
- Rio Grande
- Rodizio Grill
- Senor Camaron
- Steak-Out Saloon
- Stuft
- The Town Pump
- Sports eXchange (Which closed and reopened as Wall Street)
(11 of those places were fined in February of last year for serving alcohol to minors during a compliance check.) Wall Street Bar and Grill was apparently the only bar to lose its license last year and it will soon reopen as The Blind Pig Pub.
I feel bad for some of these places because one little screw up can look like a really big screw up if a server forgets to check the wrong ID.
The ones I don’t feel bad for seem to break the rules repeatedly, but most of them end up not being in business for long.
