What Are We Coming To?

Are we that obsessed with Twitter and Facebook that if someone needed our help we would post a status about the situation first rather than help? I would hope the human race is better than that but in a recent article on Yahoo! they talked about Bill Nye (yes, the Awesome Science guy!) collapsing on stage when he was giving a speech.  While he is passed out on stage the students in attendance pulled out their phones and started tweeting it. Seriously!?! Someone passed out right in front of you and instead of rushing to see if he is ok you update your status? It just kind of sucks that if someone needs help these days they are going to have to wait until the people around them update their status about it.  I hope that if I am ever in that situation people would just help first then post later, but who knows.
