A collision around 10 a.m. on Monday in Weld County turned fatal, according to a Denver7 report.

According to a spokesperson with the Colorado State Patrol, a 20-year-old woman and a one-year-old were killed when their 2006 Toyota Sedan collided with a semi.

The crash occurred on Weld County Road 74 between County Road 47 and County Road 49.

The 64-year-old semi driver did not suffer any injuries and it is unclear if he will face any charges.

As a mom to a toddler, this story instantly caught my attention. As most parents can relate, having a child means your heart is just casually walking around outside of your body; it's terrifying.

I encourage anyone reading this to make an extra effort in driving mindfully. Let's keep our roads as safe as possible for the families in our community.
