Substitute Investigated for Alleged Behavior With Berthoud Elementary 1st Grader
A Berthoud Elementary School substitute teacher is being investigated by the school district and law enforcement after allegations arose about a verbal and physical encounter with a first grade student.
On Thursday, Oct. 17 the substitute teacher allegedly yanked the first grade student's arm and yelled at him while the class was in the computer lab.
According to the Loveland Reporter-Herald, the student reported the incident to a female teacher at the school, showed her the red marks on his arm, and the teacher then reported the student's story to a school official who opened an investigation into the event.
The first-grader's parents where only informed of their son's encounter once they picked him up from school and they were not given the name of the substitute teacher.
This investigation is ongoing, and no other details have been released.
