It's not secret that Bastille is one of my favorite bands to come along in quite some time, they've have a string of hits in their home country of England and their having some big success with 'Pompeii', their first single here in the states. Check out this version they recorded of the song in the historic Capitol Records building, backed by an orchestra.

Here's some of what Bastille's front-man, Dan Smith, told Rolling Stone about the performance:

I'm obsessed with film scores, so to play such a cinematic version of 'Pompeii' with musicians who soundtrack Hollywood films on a daily basis was an amazing experience. We made our album in a tiny underground studio in London. To be able to spend the night in the main room of Capitol Studios recording this version was completely awesome for us.

If you can't get enough Bastille? Check out this version of 'Oblivion' they did at the Capitol studios last November, or their performance on Ellen, this one on Saturday Night Live, this ridiculously good Miley Cyrus cover they did on BBC 1's Live Lounge, or the plethora of videos they have on their YouTube/Vevo channel.
