This Fort Collins H.S. Softball Player With Only One Hand Is The Inspiration We ALL Need

What inspires you? What drives you? What keeps you going? For me, there are many things and people that are in my heart on a daily basis that keeps me driving. But there are also people who can come into your life whether you meet them in person, see them on a daily basis, or simply hear or read about them. Today, this young lady is inspiring me with her story and her toughness.

As I was skimming through various articles today, I stumbled across this particular one thanks to the Coloradoan about a softball player from Fort Collins High School that is playing, and playing well, with one hand.

Devyn Priselac is a 17-year-old that has been and continues to defy the odds and make the most out of her situation by not only dealing with it but facing the challenges head on and doing some seriously BIG things.

According to the Coloradoan article, Priselac was born without the lower part of her right arm and hand due to something called amniotic band syndrome.

I grew up watching and loving sports, and baseball was always one of my favorites. One of the coolest memories I had as a kid was watching Jim Abbott pitch with one arm in the majors. He was such an inspiration to watch and it was so amazing to see all of the things he did on the baseball diamond with only one hand. Devyn reminds me a lot of Abbott and the feeling I got watching him: amazement and inspiration.

Devyn is a pretty incredible young lady both on and off the field because there’s more to her than just softball. The way she lives her life is truly inspirational, but don’t just take my word for it.

Keep doing big things, Devyn!
