Federal Transit Administrator Signs $49 Million Agreement to Construct MAX Bus Rapid Transit in Fort Collins
Exciting news for Fort Collins! Federal Transit Administrator Peter Rogoff was in Fort Collins on Monday, May 21 to visit the future site of MAX Bus Rapid Transit and to sign a $49 million construction grant agreement for the five-mile project. What does MAX mean to Fort Collins?
Hewlett Fire Updates- Road Closures, Evacuations and More
I hope that we actually get some rain to help out the firefighters. The Hewlett fire has surpassed 5,000 acres and it is still burning. A mandatory evacuation order for the area of Bonner Springs Ranch Rd, Deer Valley Rd, Obenchain Rd and Ingleside Rd has been issued. All residents are asked to evacuate immediately. Residents may evacuate to the Cache Le Poudre Elementary Gym in Laporte. If you have large animals, you may take them to The Ranch off of I-25.
Fort Collins Bands Playing at SXSW Today in Austin, TX
Today is a huge day for several Fort Collins bands as they play the SpokesBUZZ SXSW Showcase in Austin, TX. SpokesBUZZ is a non-profit that raises global awareness of Fort Collins sound and culture by bringing worldwide attention to local bands. Including a showcase at SXSW that is pure Fort Collins including cocktails from local margarita company Coyote Gold and beer from New Belgium. Basically SpokesBUZZ is giving the rest of the country a sample of the awesome Fort Collins culture.

Garden of Lights at Spring Creek
We were lucky enough to visit the Garden of Lights at Spring Creek this weekend. Thousands of LED lights are artfully strewn through trees and in unique garden displays. The lights are on every evening from 5-8pm through New Years Eve. This is a fun outing with kids or romantic stroll for a date night. I witnessed the "branch removal" process at my house yesterday. The City of Fort Collins is working incredibly hard to clean up all the tree debris and branches left in piles around the city after last week's snowstorm.
Fort Collins to Offer No-Cost Tree Branch Removal
The City of Fort Collins is currently working with community partners including Colorado State University, Larimer County, and others on community clean-up efforts. The City will offer no-cost branch removal and recycling assistance to all residents beginning Monday, Oct. 31; work is scheduled to be complete by the end of November.
