We had to say goodbye to a lot of Northern Colorado restaurants in 2019. 23 of them, in fact.

Thankfully, 34 new restaurants, bars, and food trucks have opened in the Front Range this year, and 10 restaurants have pledged to come to the area soon.

Here's who we lost in the past 12 months:

  • Zquila Mexican Restaurant
  • Sips Pub & Grub
  • Mulligan's Pub & Sports Club
  • Sammy's Breakfast Bar
  • Handy's Restaurant
  • Potbelly Sandwich Shop (Old Town location)
  • Famous Dave's
  • Famous Toastery
  • GameDay Sports Grill
  • The Kitchen
  • Pizza Press
  • PizzaRev
  • Urban Bricks
  • Dungeons & Drafts
  • Yum Yum's
  • Linden Street Cafe
  • Drunken Monkey
  • The Downtown Artery
  • Wild Boar Cafe
  • Larkburger
  • Burger King
  • Hop Grenade Taproom

While we're sad to see these restaurants go, lots of new ones have opened:

  • Justine's Pizza
  • JJ's Woodfired Pizza
  • Infinite Monkey Theorem
  • Crooked Stave
  • Lucky's Market
  • Envy Brewing
  • The Doughnut Club
  • Mary's Mountain Cookies truck
  • Rush Bowls
  • Old Town Putt
  • Whole Foods taproom
  • Alimentary
  • XGolf
  • Blendings at the Preserve
  • Next Door American Eatery
  • Dae Gee Korean BBQ
  • CB & Potts (on Mulberry)
  • Nori Maki Bar
  • Sherpa Grill 2
  • Board & Brush
  • Kung Fu Tea
  • Windsor Mill Tavern
  • Wok and Roll
  • Cacciatore at Heller's Kitchen (in Windsor)
  • Nektar Juice Bar
  • Ohana Bowls
  • Rocky Mountain Coqui food truck
  • Khon Thai
  • Ding Tea
  • La Piadina
  • Shell on Wheels food truck
  • Wingstop
  • Little on Mountain

Here's who says they are coming to Northern Colorado soon:

  • The Axe and Ale
  • Dutch Bros Coffee (two new locations)
  • Chicken Coop
  • In-N-Out Burger
  • Modern Market
  • Backyard Bird
  • Brother's Bar & Grill
  • Odell Wine Project
  • Stodgy Brewing Co
  • The Comedy Fort

Whether restaurants are closing or opening, it's clear that we are never going to have a shortage of dining-out options in Northern Colorado.

I, for one, am looking forward to a food-filled 2020.
