There’s a Linden Street Renovation Celebration This Weekend in Fort Collins

Downtown Fort Collins now has a special kind of street and that is worth a special celebration. Linden street has been undergoing quite a renovation and the City of Fort Collins has decided it's time to show off its new use and look as a "convertible street".

The public is invited to check out the new roadway that can become a festival ground for pedestrians only, the new landscape, and several new aesthetic features. This Friday, September 16 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m Linden Street will be filled with live music and balloon animals. There will even be a Linden Street Bingo game and a treasure hunt.

This project also had a goal of linking two popular areas, Old Town Square and the River District.  We got a glimpse of the completed project a few weeks ago and now it's time to celebrate.

The City of Fort Collins said Friday's "event will be the first time Linden Street will be temporarily converted into a pedestrian space, demonstrating how the new Linden can be used for events in the future."

A little traffic heads up, to get ready for the event Linden will be closed to vehicles beginning Friday at 10 a.m. and continuing until Saturday morning.
