The McNay Fire Is Now 100% Contained
The McNay Fire is now under sufficient control, according to a press release from the Larimer County Sheriff's Office.
The 560-acre fire is now officially controlled, so crews are heading to the Glacier View Fire, and the last of the firefighters are demobilizing.
Despite having the fire under control, smoke will be visible in the area for a while, as fuels continue to smolder. Controlled burns will also be occurring near Redfeather Lakes.
The fire, which began last week, became 100% contained yesterday (September 19). No structures or people were hurt by the fire, but one vehicle was damaged.
Over 160 personnel and 11 aircraft crews tended to the fire immediately after it began, allowing for a successful and quick containment.
Big thanks to all the firefighters and crew who helped keep everyone safe.
