According to a study by Coventry Direct, which used data from the U.S. Census, men and women over the age of 55 aren't sitting in his-and-hers Adirondack chairs, watching the Colorado sunset together. Rather, the sun was setting on their nuptials, opting to split.

In fact, in the study titled 'The U.S. States Where Couples Grow Old Together,' Colorado ranked the seventh-worst, with nearly 20 percent of its over 55 demo separated or divorced. Hold on, I'm imagining my parents making Tinders.

OK, so that news sucks if you believe in lasting love, but there is good news... if you live in Wyoming. You're in it for the long haul, ranking the second-best state for growing old with your partner (you do get his-and-hers Adirondack chairs). Wyoming was beat only by Utah, and I'm not going to comment any further on the subject of Utah and marriage. You can see the full report from Coventry Direct here.

Not only is it expensive to un-tie the knot, but it's especially expensive to tie it in the first place here in Colorado, where the average wedding is $30,000. You can see one of Colorado's stunning — and probably pricey — wedding venues (that's for sale), below. Maybe we just Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell it, for the sake of finances at least.
