I stopped watching American Idol several seasons ago, because very rarely were the performances giving me chills anymore.

If something seemed off about Sam Atherton when his 'American Idol' aired on Wednesday night (Jan. 15), it's because he actually has a pretty checkered past.

'American Idol' may not be the ratings juggernaut it once was, but that doesn't mean its fans are any less passionate.

It was recently revealed that the folks behind 'American Idol' were planning to wipe their entire judges table clean and start anew admist plummeting ratings. But with the series at a personal all-time low, could a past 'Idol' standout reinvigorate it? It's been revealed that former contestant and Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson has signed on as judge for the next season.

Candice Glover was named the winner of Season 12 of 'American Idol,' defeating Kree Harrison, who was voted the runner-up! Congrats, Candice. The world needs a belter like you to be Whitney Houston's heir apparent!

Rap diva Nicki Minaj is one and done. Sources close to the production claim that the controversial star will exit 'American Idol' after Season 12 wraps tomorrow (May 16). She served on the judge's panel for a season, famously clashing with Mariah Carey, who also sat on the panel for her first year.
