It warms my heart when people put a lot of hard work into helping others, so I was blown away when I found out this 'Stuffed With Love' project was being put together by a 15-year-old girl here in Timnath. She has put together a drive to collect stuffed animals and notes of support for children affected by the horrendous Oklahoma tornadoes and will personally deliver them. She just needs your help for stuffed toys, notes of support, and cash donations.

So please, get a stuffed animal, tie a green ribbon on it, write some kind words for a kid who's like was turned upside down, and drop it by Thunder Mountain Harley Davidson this Saturday from 8AM-1PM. Read on for more details.

Our community has seen it's fair share of tragedy, and we have welcomed the support of those around the country when we needed it. Now, it's our turn to give a little back, and I think Ari's idea to bringing a tangible, positive message to kids in the affected area is a great idea. Plus, this was put together by kids, to help other kids.

So here's what you do, go get a stuffed animal (or 2 or 3 or a dozen) Tie a green ribbon around it and attach a short note with some positive words of support, and drop it by the collection site on Saturday.

  • WHAT: 'Stuffed With Love' stuffed animal drive

  • WHERE: Thunder Mountain Harley Davidson (4250 Byrd Drive, Loveland CO)
  • WHY: To spread hope and support to children affected by the Oklahoma Tornadoes
Here is what she has posted to Facebook about the stuffed toy drive:

Now is the time to send love and hope to the children affected by the tornadoes in Oklahoma. My name is Ari Van Fleet; I am a 15 year old high school freshman. I am working with members of my school, 99.9 The Point, Thunder Mountain Harley Davidson, and the Salvation Army to accomplish a mission of love. This Saturday, May 25, 2013 from 8AM-1PM at Thunder Mountain Harley Davidson (Located at Crossroads and I-25 in Loveland) we will collect stuffed animals and notes of love for the children touched by the recent tornadoes.

In Moore, Oklahoma on May 20, 2013, a two-mile tornado formed with little warning. Two elementary schools in the way of the tornadoes were destroyed. Parents sent their kids to school that day expecting them to come home; at the end of the day some never came home, while others left school to find their home was gone. That is why we have to step up to take action now. We have to collect something most children will have forever, or should have had forever.

Please donate a stuffed animal along with a note of love on Saturday. Add green ribbon if you have it, to encourage the children of Oklahoma to keep holding on, and everything is going to be all right. Donations for transportation costs will be accepted, in addition to stuffed animals and notes.

Last year Colorado was helped with our natural disasters from people from all over the country. Now it is our turn. So please, donate and give a child hope, and let it be stuffed with love.

Kids here in Northern Colorado wanting to help other kids, that's a cause I can get behind.

Spread the word!
