On Saturday afternoon, employees at 510 S. College Ave., which is the home of Big City Burrito in Fort Collins, called into authorities after they noticed the smell of smoke. And, where there was smoke, there was indeed a fire.

Big City Burrito is one of my neighbors, and when I walked past on Saturday morning, it looked like a typical weekend for them, but Poudre Fire Authority tweeted that at 3 p.m., crews were working on a 'small commercial fire.' Employees said that there was a power outage followed by the smoky odor at the restaurant.

Authorities did not provide an official cause or the extent of damage, but Twitter user Deb (@BlackRains) told Townsquare Media's Dave Jensen that it was an 'electrical fire in the roof.' Deb added that it 'could have been much much worse' if not for the quick response of Poudre Fire Authority. Hopefully they got some burritos out of it (Big City is a FoCo fave).

Just two months ago on July 21, Poudre Fire Authority extinguished a fire at the Rio Grande Mexican restaurant in Old Town Fort Collins. The Rio shared on its Instagram that overnight, there was a fire in the kitchen. No one was injured, but there was extensive damage, as the restaurant said it would be operating out of Rove's building in Old Town, likely for the next nine months.
