Short Staff Means No Spare Ribs: Nordy’s BBQ to Close on Mondays
The start of the week will soon be without the option of hitting up Nordy's in Loveland, as they've announced that they'll be a six-day operation.
You hear it more and more these days: small businesses not being able to keep enough staff on. Nordy's BBQ & Grill has joined the list, announcing that they'll be closed on Mondays beginning September 13, 2021.
Nordy's is one of the most popular restaurants in the Northern Colorado area, so it doesn't come as a surprise that they are getting busier and busier; however, there aren't many people lining up to work at the restaurant.
So, hopefully only temporarily, they won't be open for business on Mondays. This will continue until they can get 'staffed up,' with help in the kitchen, dishwashing, and prep areas.
Nordy's has a great following because they have great food, a cool 'vibe,' and they are committed to the Northern Colorado community. I remember during the pandemic shutdown in 2020, they not only tried to keep income coming in but also helped out the community, by selling 'bundles' of meat at a discounted price.
Of course, the announcement did bring comments about wages offered, and about how applicants will increase after the government-supplemented unemployment runs out.
