Run right next to elephants, mountain goats, and giraffes. The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs was recently voted one of the best zoo's in the nation. I have heard countless good things about how they have made this zoo to be one of the coolest zoos people have seen. The Road to Shrine of the Sun is only accessed by vehicle during the year, no biking or walking is allowed and is one of the zoo's biggest attractions with the stunning views of Pike's Peak.

Run to the Shrine is the only day that they will allow participants to walk or run on the road to the Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun. Run next to elephants and giraffes in an experience like no other. The road is 4 miles winding through the amazing zoo as well to get the Shrine of the Sun at the end. There is still time to register and all proceeds go to supporting the zoo. It all takes place Saturday, May 20th, from 7:30am to 11am.
