Video games have changed a lot throughout the years. A video game that somebody in Colorado experienced in 2001 is a completely different world than what video game fans have access to today.

I tried explaining the Nintendo 64 to a teenager who is a family member recently and they laughed hysterically at the controller and the fact that fixing the console meant blowing air into a cartridge and placing it into the system.

It is pretty funny when you reflect back on it now.

However, retro video game consoles have made a comeback in the past couple of years. In my household, we have the original NES and Nintendo 64. I will challenge anybody at a round of the original Mario Cart. I can almost guarantee that I will beat you.

Retro video games are officially coming back to one of the most popular video game stores.

GameStop is officially opening up GameStop Retro stores. These new stores will be a blast from the past and will sell nostalgic consoles such as the NES, Gamecube, PlayStation 2, Wii, and the original Xbox.

In addition to selling throwback consoles, GameStop Retro will sell games we grew up with like Super Smash Bros, Zelda, and Mario Party.

Personally, it surprises me a bit to see so many Nintendo products since the Nintendo Switch sells most of these games on their digital marketplace.
