Vocal legend and blues matriarch Etta James has died at the age of 73. She lost a battle with leukemia, according a report from CNN.  Etta James has a stand out voice and is the one who gave us the wedding favorite ‘At Last’.

Etta James was a strong woman who had fought battles with heroin and painkiller addiction throughout her life, yet kept making amazing music.  James is a six-time Grammy Award winner, and has been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame twice. She has also been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and has won several other awards. Additionally, James  has influenced countless artists over the years, including Beyonce, who portrayed the blues/R&B singer in the 2008 movie ‘Cadillac Records’ and performed ‘At Last’ for President Obama at his inaugural ball.

One of my favorite Etta James tracks is "I'd Rather Go Blind" a song about jealousy and the emotions that go with it.  It's simple.
