I am excited about this, I mean very, very excited. If these do become a reality for personal use, they are probably going to be a bit expensive and I would love to have one. But, the part that I am excited about is maybe we are one step closer to having a hover board, like the one that was in "Back to the Future."

Martin Jetpack, a New Zealand company which has been working on the personal jetpack for the last 27 years, had a successful test run of its latest prototype at 5,000 feet over the weekend.

The flight lasted for 10 minutes. A dummy was sent into the air rather than an actual human being, implying that the Martin Jetpack isn't going to be available at your local authorized jetpack dealer by, say, the end of the summer.

But Martin does hope to get its invention to the public soon. It currently has a waiting list of 2,500 for the $75,000 personal aviation device.

Read on to see the Martin Jetpack in action.
