Well the NFL and Pepsi, masters of cross-promotion are back at it with musicians making team tribute songs. Right now you can download Kelly Clarkson’s homage to the Dallas Cowboys called, “Get Up” for free. And in the near future we’ll hear Travie McCoy (Gym Class Heroes) and his song for the New York Giants, Kid Rock’s tribute to the Detroit Lions, Wiz Khalifa’s song for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Ice Cube’s tribute to the Oakland Raiders. All the details and the download links can be found at PepsiAnthems.com.

I love music, and I love football season and my two favorite teams are represented in this mix of music. (Yes I’m a die-hard Oakland and Detroit fan even though I grew up in “Broncos Country”. Get off my back, it’s been a rough decade.) I just hope all the songs end up being 'good'. Because if you’re like me you cringe a little bit every time you hear Faith Hill’s cheesy Sunday Night Football intros.

I miss hearing “Are You Ready For Some Football?” every week.  (Friggen’ politics have to ruin everything!)

Who do you think would write the perfect Broncos anthem?
