Soon you will be able to get some fresh air before your flight.

9News reports that Denver International Airport (DIA) is constructing outdoor spaces for travelers while they await their flights.

Emily Williams, a spokesperson for DIA, told 9News that the new outdoor spaces are being added to the end of each of the concourses.

The construction project is expected to run through 2020 and into 2021, but I imagine it will be well worth the wait.

Williams said each will have views of the mountains or prairies. The patios will include  pet relief zones and fire pits — certainly fitting in with a Colorado theme.

Williams also told 9News that 39 new gates will be added, increasing gate capacity by 30%. This is in an effort to accommodate new airlines and international carriers at DIA.
