Just like the Grand Mesa, the San Juans are amazing to look at. On a clear day, you can drive over to Palisade and see them winking at you from the far-off southern horizon. I've noticed you can only see them for a couple of hours in the morning. The haze of the day just seems to erase them from the horizon in the afternoon. It's pretty cool when you drive that way and have a chance to see them.
