One suspect has been arrested and charged with first degree arson after a fire that was started in the town of Wellington on Tuesday night.

According to a press release sent out by the Larimer County Sheriff's Office, police were dispatched to Pierce Drive in Wellington around 6:30 PM and when they arrived they detected smoke at a residence.

The deputy at the residence located a fire in the kitchen and smoke throughout the house. Both the Wellington Fire Department and Poudre Fire Authority put the fire out.

The incident was investigated, and it resulted in the arrest of 31 year old Meghan Kee, who was transported to an area hospital for medical evaluation. She was later booked into Larimer County Jail with the charges of:

First Degree Arson

Domestic Violence Enhancement

Kee is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
