Northern Colorado Police Chase Ends at Centerra
If you happened to be out on I-25 last night, you might have witnessed a high speed car chase involving police officers and a suspect. Larimer County Sheriff's Office attempted to pull over a 1996 sedan around the intersection of northeast Frontage road and Mulberry for traffic violations.
The attempted pullover was not successful as the suspect ran, running stop signs and went south on I-25 at speeds up to 95 mph. LCSO stopped the pursuit of the vehicle due to traffic and safety near Eisenhower BLVD. The suspect drove east toward Weld County and a Loveland police officer was able to identify the vehicle again. The chase was on again when the suspect did not stop. When the suspect turned onto Centerra Parkway, the vehicle had flat tires, struck a curb and went into the median.
The suspect, Anthony Chavez of Brighton, was caught and arrested for vehicular eluding, theft of motor vehicle parts, and numerous traffic infractions.
