Do you drive an electric car? A Northern Colorado National Plug-In Day event is happening this Monday (September 30th, 2013) and electric vehicle owners are invited to come join in at the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery.

National Plug In Day encourages anyone who drives an electric vehicle (EV) to join other owners in showcasing the many different EVs already in our communities. Everyone who drives an EV in Northern Colorado should gather in the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery parking lot from 12PM-1PM on Monday along with their EV. A photo will be taken at 12:30 from the top of the museum to showcase as many of Northern Colorado's EVs as possible. (More info.)

Drive Electric Northern Colorado (DENC) was launched earlier this year as a partnership of the Electrification Coalition, the City of Loveland, the City of Fort Collins, and Colorado State University designed to help with the widespread deployment of plug-in electric vehicles in the Northern Colorado.

Drive Electric Northern Colorado was formed to answer your questions, and hopefully help you decide to drive an electric vehicle. We are part of a national effort for communities to develop electric vehicle ecosystems that will make ownership of an electric vehicle simple, convenient, attractive, and cost effective.

You can get more info about DENC on their website, www.DriveElectricNoCo.org.

DENC holds numerous events throughout the year to teach people about EVs and even give them a chance to try them out.  You can check their upcoming events page to see what events they have coming up in the future.

The DENC has teamed up with dealerships like Tynan’s to hold "ride and drive" events around northern Colorado where hundreds of people have been able to drive around an EV like the Nissan Leaf. More of those will be coming in the future too.

Just a few months back the City of Fort Collins had a ribbon cutting ceremony for its public EV charging stations and I'm sure there will be plenty more charging stations unveiled as more and more EVs show up on our streets.
