NoCo Virus Tracker: CU Boulder Employee Tests Positive for COVID-19
Just one day after the University of Colorado Boulder cancelled all in-person classes for the rest of the semester, a university employee has tested presumptive positive for the coronavirus.
The university sent out an alert at 5 p.m. on Thursday (March 12).
The alert stated that CU Boulder is cooperating with Boulder County Public Health (BCPH), which is currently investigating the employee's case.
BCPH is notifying all of the individuals who have been in contact with the employee, and requesting that they stay home for two weeks and monitor any symptoms they may have.
According to the alert, the employee last worked from 8 a.m. to noon on Monday, March 9 in limited areas of the Center for Community.
The area, and any others the employee may have visited, is currently being disinfected.
Despite this news, the alert noted that a campus closure is not warranted at this time.
