Scruggs is Redecorating with Niche Design House’s Oct. 12 Classes​

Starting a new project in your home can be difficult, but there's nothing like learning to do a new project yourself⁠— and even better⁠— completing it!

Niche Design House wants to help you learn new home decor skills so that you can update your look on your time. Here's the fall schedule for every crafty class at Niche Design House's new location.

These are held on Saturday, October 12. You can also check out the full Niche Holiday Open House from October 11-13 that will give great decor ideas for the upcoming season.

1. Annie Sloan Chalk Painting 101 Class
When: 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
From Niche: "This class explains chalk paint, the waxes, brushes, gilding waxes and lacquers. Student will learn four basic techniques for chalk painting. Pre-registration is required by October 10th and can be done in-person or over-the-phone. The cost is $70 and covers and supplies and materials. Light refreshments provided. Class size is limited to 7 people."

2. "Make and Take" Project
When: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
This class allows you to make and take home a painted message pumpkin. Class size limited to 10 people. Cost is $25.

3. Crafting day
When: 1 p.m.- 5 p.m.
From Niche: There are four crafts to choose from. A person can make any or all the crafts.
1 p.m. Succulent cornucopia class (cost $35). Class size limited to 8.
2 p.m. Pumpkin centerpiece class (cost $30). Class size limited to 8.
3 p.m. "JOY jar” centerpiece (cost $30). Class size limited to 10.
4 p.m. Santa planter (cost $30). Class size limited to 10.

4. Children's Crafts for the Holidays
When: 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Kids can make a snowman ornament ($5), 3 pine cone Christmas trees ($8), 10 chocolate kiss trees ($3), or a snowman or reindeer candy holder ($6).
From Niche: "Each craft will take approximately 15 minutes to complete, so plan accordingly. Must pre-register for classes and prepay. Please register by October 8th so we can plan accordingly. Light refreshments will be served."
