Flowers for towers?

Gotta love it when you can make your event name rhyme. What are the towers? Computer towers. But it can extend to other computer hardware like hard drives, laptops or printers.

In observance of Earth Day this month, iPoint, a community–minded local network, web design and SEO company, is making it safe and easy for local residents and businesses to properly recycle their computers. Along with I.T. Refresh and the Fort Collins Nursery, iPoint is hosting their second annual “Flowers for Towers” computer recycling event April 22-24, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. There are no recycling fees and participants will get a $5 gift certificate to Fort Collins Nursery. (One gift certificate per participant.)

Each PC or server dropped off for recycling will have its hard drive wiped clean or destroyed by I.T. Refresh. Equipment will then be sorted into components to be recycled appropriately.

I spoke with Hans Broman from iPoint and he filled me in on what to expect from the event in the video above.

Items can be dropped off at iPoint’s office located at 135 West Swallow, Bldg. A in Fort Collins between April 22 and 24, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. each day. Recyclable items include: PC towers, laptops, servers, printers, copiers and scanners. (Computer monitors are excluded.)
