In honor of Earth Day, the town of Timnath will be hosting a Clean Up and Appreciation Day from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 23. The whole family can have fun at this event, with special activities planned for kids, and adults getting the opportunity to toss all of all junk that's been collecting during spring cleaning. Participating households will receive a $10 Walmart gift card, while supplies last.

There will be two dumpsters set up for Timnath residents to drop off unwanted, non-hazardous items from their homes, garages, and offices - completely free of charge. One dumpster will be at Bethke Elementary, located at 5100 School House Drive, and one at Timnath Elementary, located at 3903 Main Street. Items that cannot be accepted include: refrigerators, freezer or ice makers, tires, medical waste, large drums, wet paint, asbestos materials, contaminated soil, batteries, fluorescent light bulbs and railroad ties. Residents must also bring proof of address with them when dropping off their junk. The collection sites are not intended for commercial haulers or professional contractors.

There will be planting activities for the kids happening at Bethke Elementary until supplies last.

Additionally, to help people in the community get started with landscape clean up, a wood chipper will be available for branches and tree debris. Timnath residents who would like to schedule a pickup for their debris should contact Heather Erbes at 970-224-3211 or HErbes@timnathgov.com by April 15.
