Man Steals More Than 1,000 Books From Library

This man must really love reading! 61-year-old Mitsuka Suizu was arrested earlier this year for stealing a number of books from a library in western Japan. This then led to a search of his home where authorities say the man broke down and confessed to stealing more than 1,200 books over the course of 7 years.1,200 books over 7 years adds up to more than $25,000!!!

"He loves books,” said Nagato police spokesperson Yosuke Miyoshi. “He didn’t just want to read them. He wanted them by his side.”

He would apparently use his breaks at work to steal books from 15 or so libraries. 900 of the books have been claimed but authorities don't know where the others belong.
