A Fort Collins man was taken into custody last week after a resident at an apartment complex reported seeing him pointing a handgun at vehicles in the parking lot. After pointing a handgun at parked cars, the young man reportedly got into a vehicle and left the apartment complex at a very high rate of speed.

According to the Fort Collins Police Facebook page, officers were able to quickly locate the fleeing vehicle and its two occupants and conducted a high-risk traffic stop. Upon being pulled over, the driver complied with police and was detained.

As the passenger exited the vehicle, a partially concealed handgun was observed in his pocket. He ultimately complied with officers and was taken into custody as well. The suspect is now facing charges of Prohibited Use of a Firearm, Unlawful Concealed Weapon, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of a Handgun by a Minor.

The driver was also arrested on multiple warrants, including Driving Under the Influence, Driving Under Suspension, and Reckless Driving.
