Firefighters, EMS personnel, and police officers will come together on Saturday for bragging rights and to raise money for the local homeless.

It seems to me that firefighters are widely known for having great chili in their firehouses. Or is that a cliche? Perhaps we will find out this Saturday with this big chili cook-off.

The event takes place at 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. this Saturday, October 19, at The Foundry Plaza in Downtown Loveland.

For $5 you'll get to taste six samples- each coming with cornbread and a cinnamon roll. It's a tasty competition with four competitors: Loveland Police, Loveland Fire Rescue, Retried Fire Rescue, and EMS personnel. Whose chili will be best?

Attendees will be voting for their favorite chili, and three 'official' judges will be awarding the traveling trophy, choosing between the four official entries from the First Responders.

Money raised by the event, which is hosted by two churches in Downtown, Trinity United Methodist Chuch and First Congregational Church, will go towards Loveland's Community Kitchen and 137 Homeless Connection, who help out the homeless population of the Loveland area.

The event includes live music, First Responder vehicle demonstrations, and vegan chili.

Over 1,500 are interested in going, so get your tickets ahead of time HERE.
