Lindsey Vonn Crashed At Copper Mountain, Partially Tore Her Surgically-Repaired ACL

Olympic gold medal-winning skier, Lindsey Vonn, had a rough day at Copper Mountain this week. Earlier this year, she tore ligaments in her knee in a scary crash at the world championships and she crashed again on Tuesday at Copper, damaging her surgically-repaired knee, including a partial ACL tear.

From 9News:

Lindsey sustained a mild strain to her right knee, a partial tear to her right ACL, minor facial abrasions and scapular contusions from her fall...She needs to rest for a few days and then will pursue aggressive physical therapy and will determine the next time she is able to compete after seeing how she responds to the treatment.

She was training to try and return for the World Cup races at the end of November, but this latest crash will probably keep her out of those and might even jeopardize her chances  of defending her title at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics.

Just a day before her crash Vonn posted a photo online with the caption, "Catching some air today in Downhill training."

Vonn lives in Vail, Colorado and is currently dating golf great, Tiger Woods. She and Woods were even in Denver on Sunday night at the Broncos vs. Chiefs game. (Pictured at right)

Knee injuries are always scary. The mere though of tearing ligaments in my knee gives me the heebie-jeebies, but Vonn's career depends on what her knees can do. That has to be a terrifying feeling when you injure and re-injure a knee.
