Kyle Clark Raises $68,000 to Clean Up Civic Center Park
Kyle Clark has raised $68,000 to help clean up Civic Center Park after rioters damaged the area over the weekend.
The 9News anchor began the fundraiser on Wednesday (June 3), asking his viewers to donate $5 to the Civic Center Conservancy, an organization that works "to activate, enhance, and restore Denver's only National Historic Landmark."
He pledged to match the first 50 donations, and viewers quickly stepped up.
Clark announced that the fundraising would become a weekly part of his show Next, stating that his crew will highlight important Colorado non-profits in a segment called "Word of Thanks."
The City of Denver hosted its own cleanup of the park on Monday (June 1). The Denver Channel reports that dozens of volunteers showed up to help city employees clean up graffiti and trash.
