It takes a lot of gall to become a jewel thief. Unfortunately for these Australian thieves it also takes a lot of brains.

These guy were busted while trying to drill a tunnel into a jewelry store, instead they tunneled into a neighboring KFC restaurant instead.

Yahoo News reports that the duo planned to drill in to "Wrights Classique Jewelers" by tunneling through the public toilets behind the store. They did their drilling and crawled inside to claim their ill-gotten bounty, but they found themselves standing inside a KFC restaurant instead of their targeted jewelry store.

Even though there was no jewelry to steal they were determined to take something for all their hard work. They threatened restaurant staff with the crowbars they’d used for digging and made off with about $1,000 from the store’s safe.

Thankfully, Dumb and Dumber here were pretty easy to identify and were picked up by police a short while later.
