Loveland Brewery May Get New Dispensary as Neighbor

Soon, Loveland will see at least a few dispensaries open across the city, now that the citizens OK'd marijuana business licenses. A dispensary business that's been in Northern Colorado since 2009 is ready to make The Sweetheart City its next spot.

What Fort Collins Dispensary Has Plans for Loveland?

Many in Loveland may take comfort, solace if you will, that a well-established dispensary wants to begin operating in Loveland; Solace Meds submitted plans in early 2026 for a 4,800 square-foot space right next to Big Thompson Brewery.

The Rocky Mountain Collegian did a story in 2013 about the man behind Solace Meds, Ken Correia. He once owned an insurance company that insured dispensaries, but then opened up his own dispensary in Fort Collins in 2009. Today, there are two Solace Meds in Fort Collins (3516 South Mason, 301 Smokey) and one in Wheat Ridge.

When Will Solace Meds Open in Loveland?

I reached out to the City of Loveland about the Solace Meds project, and they informed me (in late May of 2026) that Solace Meds' license had not yet been approved. The city said that Solace Meds had to post a public notice on the space; that notice would include the hearing date and time for consideration of their license application.

As of May 28, 2026, there was no notice at 154 East 15th Street. I did reach out to Solace Meds, but had not heard back upon the publishing of this article.
