Dine Inside a Whiskey Barrel at a Colorado Ski Resort
There's no shortage of unique restaurants throughout Colorado. From hole-in-the-wall eateries and delicious mobile food trucks to fancy establishments that provide some of the finest dining options in the Rocky Mountain region, there are countless places to grab a great bite to eat.
One of the coolest dining experiences is available at the base of Steamboat Resort and takes après ski to a whole new level. Rather than sitting at a typical table, The Range Food and Drink Hall has custom cedar Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey barrels that guests can reserve instead.
This one-of-a-kind tasting experience includes a curated four-course menu that’s paired with a flight of Stranahan’s whiskey. Each of the cozy barrels has pillows and blankets to provide extra warmth. Plus, the exclusive structures offer stunning views of the mountain. Specialty cocktails and additional menu items are available for purchase too.
Steamboat's whiskey barrels are $100 per person and require a $50 reservation fee. Four people can fit inside one of the wooden structures. Reservations for eating inside the whiskey barrels can be made online. The barrels will be available to dine in through April 14, 2024, and will re-open again during the next ski season.
Guests who have taken part in this different dining experience say it was "extraordinary" and also remarked about the beautiful setting.
