An Iconic Colorado Cycling Event Has Been Canceled for 2024

Surprisingly, a highly popular and iconic cycling ride through Colorado has been canceled for 2024. While I am not a cyclist, I can see the appeal of this ride through some of Colorado's best country every summer. The announcement may come as a bit of a shock to some who have participated in the event in the years past.

Cyclists from all over the world have come to take part in the event called Ride the Rockies. In 2023, Ride the Rockies was a 308-mile-long ride that climbed over 27,000 feet in elevation. Starting and ending in Fort Collins, Ride the Rockies 2023 passed through Estes Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, Grand Lake, Winter Park, Central City, Nederland, Lyons, and Loveland before closing out in The Choice City.

Currently, it is not clear if Ride the Rockies will return in 2025. Ridetherockies.com has limited information on the website at this point. One of the topics that is on the site is the question everyone who loves the event is asking, will Ride the Rockies Return? There is no clear answer to that question at the moment. Ridetherockies.com says that they are currently assessing the best options for beloved ride.

Ride the Rockies has been a cycling tradition in Colorado since its inception by the Denver Post in 1986. The inaugural ride took more than 1,500 cyclists on a trip from Grand Junction, Colorado to Denver according to cpr.org.
