Is Larimer County at Risk of Losing Federal Grant Monies for Flood Recovery?
Larimer County may be at risk of losing federal grant monies for flood recovery. A new report warns the county the loss of monies is a possibility.
The Coloradoan is reporting that the results of a recent report that Larimer County could lose all or a portion of the 22.5 million in disaster relief funds.
The report took a close look at two recovery projects and found that the county didn't take proper measures to open the jobs to all contractors. And didn't make a strong effort to include women and minorities. County Manager Linda Hoffman said that the jobs were given to contractors who had won work bids for on-call and emergency work before the floods.
Hoffman says that all projects are in potential threat of losing funds and that the risk to Larimer County is low.
