City of Loveland Offers Free Ecology Class – Great for Homeschoolers

The City of Loveland is offering a free class on ecology that is free and open to the public. It's a great way to learn more about our environment and how the floods have affected the area.

If you love the outdoors and want to learn more about the Big Thompson and the ecology around it, the City of Loveland is offering classes on Saturday, October 19 and also Saturday, November 1 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

I would think if you have home-schooled kids, this would be a great science/ecology class and a chance for them to get some real hands on experience. The classes will be held at Namaqua Park and you MUS make reservations as the classes are limited to 30.

Kids (and adults) will learn about the Big Thompson watershed, river ecology, and the of course what the floods of 1976 and 2013 have changed and/or helped. There will also be hands on activities and from what I hear, they might even have a chance to wade and play in the water a bit while learning about bugs at the same time. What kid doesn't like bugs and wading in the water?
