Irish/ St. Patricks Day Quotes
We all know that St. Patty's day is a day to dress up in green and drink and be merry and some know the history behind the day. But, the Irish have a whole slew of inspiration quotes, blessings and proverbs for the day, and not just for St. Patty's day, for everyday. So here are some of my favorites:
"May the sun shine, all day long,
everything go right, and nothing wrong.
May those you love bring love back to you,
and may all the wishes you wish come true!"
"May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields and,
Until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand."
"For each petal on the shamrock this brings a wish your way- good health, good luck and happiness for today and every day."
"I wish you lots of good luck no matter what the day. I wish you lots of sunshine and not a bit of gray……I wish you lots of laughter and never one wee sigh, and I hope no gift of fortune may ever pass you by."
"May the roof above us never fall in, and may we friends beneath it never fall out"
"Here's to me, and here's to you. And here's to love and laughter. I'll be true as long as you. And not one moment after."
"Here's to you and yours, And to mine and ours, And if mine and ours ever come across you and yours, I hope you and yours will do as much for mine and ours and mine and ours have done for you and yours!"
"You've got to do your own growing, no matter how tall your father was."
"May your thoughts be as glad as the shamrocks. May your heart be as light as a song. May each day bring you bright, happy hours. That stay with you all the year long."
"It is often that a person's mouth broke his nose."
"It is better to be a coward for a minute than dead for the rest of your life."
"Irish luck’s proverbial: it never fails, they say, and that’s the kind I’m wishing you, with all my heart today, and faith, that’s not the half of it, I wish you fun and laughter, good friends and health and happiness today and ever after."
"Lets all put our dancin’ shoes and wear our shamrocks green and toast our friends both here and there and everywhere between."
"Like the gold of the sun, like the light of the day, may the luck of the Irish shine bright on your way. Like the glow of a star, and the lilt of a song may these be your joys all your life long."
"Lucky stars above you, sunshine on your way, many friends to love you, joy in work and play- laughter to outweigh each care, in your heart a song- and gladness waiting everywhere all your whole life long!"
"May you always have work for your hands to do.
May your pockets hold always a coin or two.
May the sun shine bright on your windowpane.
May the rainbow be certain to follow each rain.
May the hand of a friend always be near you.
And may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you."
